Please be advised that there was a large coyote sighting earlier today behind the 1700 block of Travertine Terrace. For the safety of all residents including our pets do NOT leave your pets unaccompanied on porches or garages for any period of time. Please walk your dogs on a short leash. Coyotes are very agile and can climb fences. Coyotes will kill animals smaller than themselves despite being skittish around people. If encountered, you should wave your arms, clap your hands, and shout in an authoritative voice. Make noise by banging pots and pans or blowing a whistle. These sounds can also alert the neighbors. Remember, feeding coyotes is illegal as they will lose their fear of humans.
